Meet Dr. Alexander Greene

Introduction

Dr. Heather Shaw

Dr. Greene

I grew up playing various sports throughout my life. Most notably for me were my high school years when I played soccer and swam competitively. When I started university, the activities I was able to partake in vastly expanded and my interests for these various activities blossomed even further. I participated in everything from weightlifting, cycling and triathlons, rock climbing, to traditional and mixed martial arts. With this increase in physical activity, I sustained many sports and repetitive overuse injuries for which I had to overcome. Through all of this, I still loved being physically active and continued to strive to be better.

Drawn to Chiropractic

I have always been interested in the human body, health, and physical activities, but I had many other interests and no true passions. While I was in university, I was struggling to find where I belonged and what direction I wanted to take in life. At the end of 2016, I was working on completing my Bachelor of Science degree, and at the same time was planning for what future career I wanted to go into. I had a few options in mind, which were to become a Physical Therapist or Personal Trainer. Though I preferred the latter option, I wasn’t satisfied with being just a Personal Trainer, since I felt I could be and do more. That was when a friend of mine from university, Surya Bhatti (now Dr. Surya Bhatti, DC), reached out to me and asked what my plans were for the future. When I told him I was planning to be a Personal Trainer, he asked me if I had ever thought of going to Chiropractic School to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. At the time, I had no idea what the chiropractic profession was all about, or even what a Chiropractor was until I googled it and became very interested in what I learned. Later, I found out that there was a chiropractic school in my hometown of San Jose and the rest was history.

Chiropractic Education

Prior to Palmer College of Chiropractic, I went to San Francisco State University, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Movement Science and a Minor degree in Holistic Health. I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in June of 2021. I am proud to have had the opportunity to undergo such a rigorous educational program where I could learn about anatomy, pathology, diagnostics, clinical practices, and various adjusting techniques that have helped shape me into the doctor I am today. Since then, I have been continuing to learn more rehabilitation exercises and practice Sacro-Occipital Technique to incorporate it better into my adjustment and treatment style.

Helping You Achieve Greater Health

My job is to figure out how to manage the conditions that cause you dis-ease and help encourage your body to start to undergo its own healing processes. Thus, my goal is to help get your body as close to an optimal functioning level as I possibly can, using targeted adjustments, while also keeping in mind that the human body is a complex and integrated system. I also want to help educate you about your body, about how to manage your own pain, and how to incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily health routine. I believe health is a team effort and that you should be invested in your own wellbeing.

My Health/Self-care Regimen

For years, I have suffered from various sports related and repetitive overuse injuries, such as neck, low back, shoulder, wrist, and knee pain. I have incorporated various rehabilitation exercises and stretches into my daily routine to help manage and prevent my pain. I also receive weekly adjustments to help keep me aligned and in good physical shape, so I can continue to do what I love to do. To support my activity, I also must fuel my body right with proper nutrition and dietary habits, as well as getting an adequate amount of sleep.

Dedicated to Family and Community

My family instilled in me the importance of working hard, being responsible, and honoring commitments that I have made. There was a strong influence of participating in sports and taking care of my health. I have met many people from different walks of life and have been taught to listen to and accept people as they are. Due to this upbringing, I am committed to help my friends, family, and patients achieve the most balanced life possible through a team approach. Discover better health naturally.
