Your First Visit to Our Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

We feel it is important for you to feel safe and comfortable especially on your first visit. At our office we have made every effort to have you feel at home with calming colors and a warm environment.

If you have filled out your paperwork already, we will discuss with you any questions you may have regarding chiropractic, fees or insurance. We make every effort to see patients immediately as your time is important.

Dr. Shaw will then sit down and discuss with you any of your healthcare concerns or questions and go over your health history. Included in the discussion, will be what a typical day looks like for you in terms of how your posture is and what stresses are on your body. If you have any previous x-rays, MRIs, CT scans or other reports, please bring them with you at this time.

Dr. Shaw will then perform an examination to determine exactly what is happening to your spine and nervous system. During this time, she will explain her findings and always has time for your questions.

Please give yourself 1 hour for this process as we try to be as thorough as possible. If you are in discomfort, Dr. Shaw will provide treatment to give you relief. It is typical for the doctor to call you after your initial adjustment to see how you are doing and ask if you have any concerns.

Dr. Shaw Asks some important questions of interest to Santa Clara residents - Chiropractor Santa Clara Dr. Shaw Asks...

If you have a fever, are you sick or healthy?
Chiropractors love asking this question because it gets to the root of the chiropractic difference. Turns out fevers, vomiting, coughing and even sneezing are all healthy responses. It means your body is working correctly. Taking medications to suppress these natural processes can actually prolong your recovery.
Which organs are extra?
You don't have any spare parts. Sure, we can survive without our tonsils, appendix, gall bladder and several other tissues, but each serves a purpose. We chiropractors recognize this. So the chiropractic approach I use in Santa Clara is to reduce nerve interferences to the control and regulation of every tissue, organ and system of your body.
